WEEKEND SPORT: We are spoilt for sporting choices this weekend with plenty of sports in action.
INDOOR HOCKEY: The Maryborough Indoor Hockey Centre will host the under 18’s men state indoor hockey state championships this weekend, with games beginning today. Teams from around the state will converge on Maryborough to claim the title as best in Queensland. The under 18 women will travel to Brisbane for their state championships.
CRICKET: This week, Bushrangers Gold play Past Grammars in the senior cricket competition while Bushrangers Blue plays Cavnish. Ausrocks are up against the Cavaliers in the final match. There is plenty of action in the juniors also happening across the region.
SOFTBALL: The Maryborough and Hervey Bay Softball seasons continue with games in both centres.
TRIATHLON: The Hervey Bay Triathlon Club will host race three of their season this Sunday at Seafront Oval Hervey Bay. The Juniors race will begin at 6.30 am before the seniors go from 7.30 pm.
CYCLING: The Fraser Coast Cycling Club holds a super crit event this Sunday at the Hervey Bay Airport circuit. Racing begins at 7 am.
SWIMMING: The Hervey Bay Long Course swimming event gets underway at the Hervey Bay Aquatic Centre tonight and continues tomorrow with swimmers from around the Wide Bay and Sunshine Coast competing.
RUGBY: The Fraser Coast Mariners will play the Barbarians in a top of the table clash at Brothers Saturday at 4.30 pm.
BMX: Friday night racing continues tonight at the Maryborough BMX club in Tinana. Registrations open from 6 pm.
