FC Sports Media will celebrate our third birthday on August 1 and usher a change in how we deliver local sporting content to the region.
We are not going anywhere and will continue to cover local sports.
The media landscape has changed since social media and streaming have become popular and will continue to evolve over the next few years.
After extensive market research and feedback from subscribers, we will refocus on how we deliver our products.
We have made the decision based on several factors.
1. The wider community not believing they need to pay for news.
2. Results and information about games is posted instantaneously on social media platforms.
3. Subscribers sharing our content via WhatsApp and other platforms removing revenue opportunities for FC Sports Media.
4. People are only interested in a sport they are involved in.
From August 1 2023, we will remove subscription fees for monthly and annual subscribers making the entire site accessible for anyone who wishes to view it.
• Galleries will be able to be viewed by anyone, and images can be purchased (cannot be downloaded)
• We will focus on providing galleries for the community to view.
FC Sports Media loves covering local sports and showcasing our local sportspeople.
Subscriptions have been turned off, and no further payments will come from subscribers’ accounts.
We know some annual subscribers will still have paid funds and not receive value.
FC Sports Media will provide on a case-by-case basis credit or refund to those annual subscribers who request it.
We are committed to local sports on the Fraser Coast and look forward to beginning our fourth year in business.
