WEEKEND SPORT:  Hi guys, Dash here; another week is coming to an end and plenty of opportunities to get out and watch some local sports over the weekend.

AFL: This week, in the women’s competition, Gympie hosts ATW at Six Mile Oval in Gympie while Bay Power travels to Bundaberg to play Brothers Bulldogs.
The Maryborough Bears travel to Hervey Bay to play the Bombers.
The men’s Senior competition kicks off this Saturday with the reigning premiers, the Hervey Bay Bombers hosting ATW at Norm McLean Oval, while Brothers Bulldogs play Bay Power in Bundaberg.

FOOTBALL: In this week’s fixtures Granville host Bingera in Maryborough while Doon Villa host the KSS Jets at Villa Park.
The United Park Eagles play S.C. Corinthians at Martens Oval, while the Fraser Flames are home to Sunbury in Hervey Bay.
In women’s action, the Fraser Flames play Sunbury in Hervey Bay this week while the United Park Eagles are against Diggers at Martens Oval.
Tinana plays the KSS Jets in Maryborough while the United Warriors are home to Bingera.

Junior fixtures continue on Saturday with an SAP carnival at the Fraser Coast Sports and Recreation Precinct on Sunday.

RUGBY LEAGUE: The Wide Bay Women’s competition gets underway this weekend, with the Hervey Bay club hosting a nine’s carnival on Saturday. In the men’s, ATW is against Easts while Wests were to play Wallaroos (now postponed due to COVID).
The Seagulls host Past Brothers in Hervey Bay.

BMX:  The Maryborough BMX Club continue their Friday night races tonight at their Tinana home.

HOCKEY: Fraser Coast Hockey gets underway on Friday night in Hervey Bay this week. Magpies play CBR while HB Brothers play Granville. In the women’s Magpies play Tinana. On Saturday, Granville plays UniRoos in Maryborough.

NETBALL:  The Hervey Bay Netball Association fixtures continue Saturday, with a representative carnival to be played on Sunday at the Fraser Coast Sports and Recreation Precinct.

CYCLING: The Fraser Coast Cycling Club plans to re-run race two of the B Mee Super Crit Series on Sunday at the Hervey Bay Industrial Estate, racing from 7 am.

Get out and support some local sport over the weekend; I know I will be doing it.
