WEEKEND SPORT:  Dash here; I hope you have all had a good week. Hasn’t it been great to see some sunshine?

There is plenty of sport around this weekend, and with the weather improving, it is a perfect time to get out and check out some local sports.

AFL: The women’s competition continues with Gympie hosting Bay Power. The Hervey Bay Bombers head up to Bundaberg to play Brothers Bulldogs, and the Maryborough Bears play Across the Waves in Maryborough.

HOCKEY:  There are games over the weekend with the women’s Fraser Coast Competition in Maryborough on Saturday with Tinana playing UniRoos and Granville up against Bolts. The men are in Hervey Bay with HB Brothers playing CBR and Magpies playing Granville.

FOOTBALL:  The juniors start this weekend with a massive MiniRoos carnival at the Sporting Precinct and premier league action with Across the Waves playing SC Corinthians, Sunbury playing UPE, Bingera up against KSS Jets and the Fraser Flames playing Granville at the Sports Precinct.

CRICKET: The preliminary final is in Hervey Bay on Saturday, with the Cavaliers playing Cavnish.

CYCLING:  Round two of the BMee Crit Series gets underway on Sunday at the Hervey Bay Airport Industrial Estate circuit from 7 am.

NETBALL: The Hervey Bay Netball Association teams hit the courts at the Fraser Coast Sports and Recreation Precinct on Saturday, with the first grading day beginning from 8 am.
