WEEKEND SPORT: Local sport returns this weekend with plenty of options.
AFL: This week, it is the Hervey Bay local derby in the AFL Wide Bay senior competitions, with Bay Power hosting the Hervey Bay Bombers in all senior grades.
Junior matches will also return tonight and tomorrow. Check the AFL Wide Bay website for details.
RUGBY LEAGUE: Another local derby in the Bundaberg Rugby League with Wallaroos hosting the Hervey Bay Seagulls at Eskdale Park. Wests play Easts, and Past Brothers play Waves.
FOOTBALL: Junior and senior football also returns with FQPL action in Hervey Bay. On Saturday in the men’s, the Fraser Flames play Bingera, the KSS Jets play Across the Waves at the Fraser Coast Sports Precinct, Sunby plays SC Corinthians, and Doon Villa plays UPE in Bundaberg.
It is the same in the women’s competition, with Tinana having the bye.
HOCKEY: The Fraser Coast Hockey competitions also continue with Hervey Bay hosting all games with UniRoos and Granville Rovers and Magpies and Bolts playing in the women’s while HB Brothers and Granville Tigers and Magpies and CBR meet in the men’s.
CYCLING: The Fraser Coast and Bundaberg Cycling Clubs are hosting the third race in their Road Series at Mungar on Sunday, racing from 8 am.
