WEEKEND SPORT: What glorious weather, and how good would it be out enjoying the sunshine and cheering on some local sport over the weekend?
We have plenty of choices for you to check out.
FOOTBALL: This week, the women’s competition features Fraser Coast derby matches with Tinana and Doon Villa playing at Federation Park in Maryborough. At the same time, the Fraser Flames and the KSS Jets will meet in Hervey Bay in a top-of-the-table clash at the Fraser Coast Sports and Recreation Precinct. In the final match, Bingera and UPE will face off in Bundaberg.
In the men’s competition, Sunbury played Doon Villa at Federation Park and secured a win, while the KSS Jets and Fraser Flames meet at the Fraser Coast Sports and Recreation Precinct tomorrow night. Bingera plays UPE, and SC Corinthians face ATW, with both games in Bundaberg.
Juniors are also in action over the weekend.
AFL: There is plenty of action around the Fraser Coast this weekend, with the Bombers hosting Brothers Bulldogs and Bay Power hosting The Waves in the women’s, men’s and reserves. Juniors are also in action tonight and tomorrow morning.
RUGBY LEAGUE: This week, Wallaroos and Seagulls meet at Stafford Park. Brothers play Waves, and Wests play Easts in Bundaberg.
CYCLING: The Fraser Coast and Bundaberg Cycling Club host the Combined Road Race Series, with race one happening this Sunday at Childers. Seniors will race over 55 kilometres.
TRIATHLON: The Hervey Bay Triathlon Club have their Teams Triathlon next Sunday, competing over 200m/5km/1.5km format.
KARTING: Maryborough Speedway will host the Queensland Speedway Karts titles this Saturday, with racing from noon.
HOCKEY: This week, local hockey returns with UniRoos playing Magpies and Granville Rovers playing Bolts in Maryborough while no men’s games are scheduled.
