WEEKEND SPORTS:  The sporting community is finding its rhythm again after the Christmas break, with sports returning to their standard patterns.  There is plenty of choices for you to get out and check out some of our local sports stars.

TRIATHLON:  The Hervey Bay Triathlon Club have a busy weekend ahead, hosting two events.

They will hold their third race in the junior duathlon series on Saturday at the Fraser Coast Sports and Recreation Precinct, racing from 3.50 pm.

They will follow that up with their 3rd race in their main series with an Aquathlon at Ron Beaton Park on Sunday, with junior racing from 7 am and seniors from 8 am.

CRICKET:  The Fraser Coast Senior Cricket competition continues tomorrow, with games scheduled in Hervey Bay.  Ausrocks play Bushrangers Blue while Cavnish battle against Grammars Tinana.  Bushrangers Gold will face the Cavaliers.

The under-12s will also play at Hervey Bay on Saturday morning, with three games scheduled.

FOOTBALL:  The pre-season friendlies continue this weekend with Granville hosting Bingera at Canning Park, Maryborough, in an FQPL men’s trial on Saturday night, with the game scheduled for a 6 pm start.

SOFTBALL:  Maryborough and the Hervey Bay/Coral Coast competitions resume with games in Maryborough starting from 8 am, with the last games scheduled for a 3.15 pm start.

All Hervey Bay/Coral Coast games are in Bundaberg this weekend.  Check the Hervey Bay and Maryborough Facebook pages for game times.

CYCLING: The Fraser Coast Cycling Club will host their first racing event for the year on Sunday with the Term 1 Crit Grading race at the Hervey Bay Industrial Estate circuit.  

Racing begins with the under 9 and 10’s from 7 am, with all grades following with B grade the last to take to the circuit from 7.50 am.
