DASH’S WEEKEND SPORTS DIARY

WEEKEND SPORT:  I hope everyone is having a good week and ready for a relaxing weekday weekend.  There is not a lot of sport around the Fraser Coast, but athletes are doing plenty of things.

FOOTBALL:  There are no senior football fixtures this weekend, but the juniors are still in action.

RUGBY LEAGUE:  Similarly, in the Bundaberg Rugby League competition, the 47th battalion matches are being played in Gladstone, so there is no senior football.  Good luck to our Wide Bay teams. The mini/mods play in Hervey Bay while the junior international grades start their season.

AFL:  We have AFL action with the final regular-season round for the women before finals with the Bombers hosting Brothers, ATW up against Maryborough in Bundaberg. At the same time, Bay Power plays Gympie in Hervey Bay.

In the men’s, it is a local derby with Bombers and Bay Power facing off while ATW and Brothers do similarly in Bundaberg.

HOCKEY: There is no Fraser Coast Hockey action this weekend; however, some junior and division three matches are still going ahead.

TRIATHLON:  Good luck to our local triathletes competing in the Bargara Triathlon this weekend.

See you next week.
